Shading Rectangles with a Given Area Worksheet Download

This worksheet reverses the usual area question: instead of counting squares to find an area, the student is given the area and has to build a rectangle that matches it on a ten by ten grid. Finding side lengths that multiply to the target is the "why length times width" idea behind the standard. Most areas can be made in more than one way, so the answer key shades one example and lists every rectangle that should be accepted.
