About this worksheet
Each worksheet has 20 problems multiplying a number by 10, 100 or 1,000.
This worksheet gives children practice multiplying whole numbers by 10, 100 and 1,000 in their heads. The powers are written as ordinary numbers rather than with exponents, because exponent notation is taught later and a child who cannot read it would miss a place-value question for reasons that have nothing to do with place value. Keeping to multiplication alone means the operation has to be read rather than guessed from whether the answer looks bigger.
