About this worksheet
Each worksheet has 20 problems choosing whether an expression is greater than, less than or equal to another value.
This worksheet asks children which sign makes each statement true - greater than, less than or equal to. Unlike the other comparing worksheets, which put two numbers side by side, here at least one side is an expression, so the value has to be worked out before any comparison can be made. Half the problems compare an expression to a number and half compare two expressions. The sign is chosen before the numbers are built, so equals appears as often as the other two rather than almost never, which is what happens when values are simply generated and compared. Sheets can be customized, turned into flash cards, or assigned for online learning.

- Compare two prices worked out in different ways.
- Decide which of two expressions is larger without a calculator.
