Finding Area from Side Lengths (Word) Worksheet Download
This worksheet gives the width and length of a rectangle in a short story and asks how many one-unit squares it takes to cover it. There is no picture to count, so the student has to multiply rather than tile. The wrong choices are the mistakes the question invites - adding the two lengths, finding the perimeter, or losing a row of squares - so a student who is unsure cannot rule any of them out by inspection.
