Matching a Figure to Unit Cubes
Students are given a number of unit cubes and choose which of four figures is built with exactly that many.
Student Objectives
- Count the unit cubes in each of several figures
- Match a number of cubes to the figure it would build
- Compare figures that differ by only one or two cubes
- Recognize that two figures can look alike and still take different numbers of cubes
