Making Change by Counting Up Worksheet Download
This math worksheet practices making change by counting up, the way a cashier counts change back. Students start at the price and count up to the next 5 cents, the next quarter, the next dollar and then the amount paid, adding the jumps: from 68¢ to $1.00 is 2¢ + 5¢ + 25¢ = 32¢. About half the problems lay out the stops so students only fill in each jump. Prices under a dollar are paid with $1.00, and prices of a few dollars are paid with a $5, $10 or $20 bill.
