About this worksheet
Each worksheet has 8 problems finding the one outcome left out of a table of possible outcomes.
The standard behind this sheet names three ways of showing a sample space - tree diagrams, tables and pictures - and the worksheets that came before it used only the first and the last. This one uses a table, and it leaves an outcome out rather than leaving a cell blank in a grid: a blank cell is answered by copying the row and column headings, while a missing row means the complete set has to be built and compared. Every wrong answer is an outcome that really is in the table, so a choice cannot be dismissed for naming something that appears nowhere, and the rows are shuffled so the gap in the pattern does not give it away. Sheets can be customized, turned into flash cards, or assigned for online learning.
