About this worksheet
Each worksheet has 8 problems describing whether a shape's line of symmetry is vertical, horizontal or diagonal.
This standard asks a student to identify AND DESCRIBE the lines of symmetry, and the worksheets here only ever identified: one asks whether a drawn line is a line of symmetry, two others ask how many there are. None asks where the line runs, which is what describing it means and the only part of the standard that needs the words. Each shape is turned, and that is the whole mechanism - every one-line shape in the library has its line running vertically as drawn, so an unturned page would answer vertical every time. A quarter turn puts the line horizontal and an eighth turn puts it on the diagonal. One choice in four is that the shape has no line of symmetry at all. Sheets can be customized, turned into flash cards, or assigned for online learning.
