About this worksheet
Each worksheet has 8 input and output tables to complete using a rule with two operations.
This worksheet gives a rule with two operations, such as n times 3 plus 2, and asks the student to complete an input and output table with it. The existing pattern sheets are all one operation, and the one that does use two reads the rule off a finished table - this runs the other direction, building the table from the rule, which is what using tables and rules to make predictions actually asks for. The inputs are deliberately not consecutive: left as 1, 2, 3, 4 a student can find the first output, notice the rest go up by the same amount and fill them in by adding, never applying the rule at all. Sheets can be customized, turned into flash cards, or assigned for online learning.
