Each worksheet has 12 problems choosing the best customary unit for measuring a length, a weight or an amount of liquid.
This worksheet asks which customary unit would be best for measuring each situation, mixing length, weight and liquid volume so the student has to notice what is being measured before deciding how large the unit should be. Each question offers one unit that measures the same thing at the wrong scale and two that measure something else entirely. The best unit is always the largest one that still leaves a number of at least 1, so a bathtub is measured in gallons rather than fluid ounces. Sheets can be customized, turned into flash cards, or assigned for online learning.
