Shading and Naming Fractions with Fraction Bars Worksheet Download
This worksheet gives students a fraction bar that is divided into equal parts but left unshaded, along with the number of parts to shade. After shading, the student writes the fraction that is shaded - the parts they shaded over the total number of parts in the bar. Building the fraction from a picture they made themselves, rather than reading one that is already shaded, connects the numerator to a count of equal parts and the denominator to the whole.
