About this worksheet
Each worksheet has 12 word problems converting between inches, feet and yards.
This worksheet converts between inches, feet and yards inside a word problem, in the shape of a released test item. The four choices are the four things a student can do with two numbers: twenty-four yards to feet is twenty-four times three, and the other options are twenty-four divided by three, twenty-four times twelve, and twenty-four divided by twelve. Every wrong answer names a specific confusion - the right factor in the wrong direction, the right direction with the inch factor, or wrong both ways - so a student who has the relationship straight can rule out three of them without arithmetic. The starting number is always a multiple of twelve, so no option can be eliminated for arriving as an untidy decimal. Sheets can be customized, turned into flash cards, or assigned for online learning.
